WHAT A GREAT RECUMBENT SHOW IN GERMANY MAY 2014! SPEZI!
As I was traveling to Germensheim, I discovered that the EU does things a little differently than we do.
Bicycling is encouraged, sometimes motorized, riden daily in Frankfurt (in suits and skirts), and welcome on the trains! Adaptations to take a wheelchair onto a three wheeled trike was shown in two booths. What a great way to make sure everyone is included in the adventure!
Most of the trikes and bikes at the recumbent show this year had the option of motorizing, even the Sun trikes and velomobiles! Check out some of these pictures from the show!
See VanRaam website for these battery assit two person riding bikes! The Netherlands has many great assistive bikes for the whole family to ride! http://www.vanraam.com
This interesting mobile has a cover and the wheels can be locked in the upright position or unlocked to be ridden more like a two wheel bike with leaning in for the curves! Battery assist too! It is available for lease in the EU!
The mail people in Germany actually have baskets on the front of their bikes to deliver mail. The bikes have training wheels that pop out by the front wheel to hold the heavy load while they sort mail for delivery!
